CIO and Co-Founder
Pietro spent two years in private equity in France before focusing exclusively on real estate. For the last 20 years, he has been active throughout the real estate sector in Milan, Paris and London. In this capacity, he completed the refurbishment of the former Richard Ginori site (approximately 60,000 sqm). Together with Co-Founder Stefano Sirolli Pietro launched and invested significantly in two real estate funds dedicated to the Zona Tortona in Milan: The Metropolitan Estate Fund and Pioneer RE Creative Properties. A key investor and promoter of the successful developments of Zona Tortona in Milan, he has also acted as exclusive property manager for the Metropolitan Estate Fund. In 2007, jointly with Stefano, he founded RealStep, currently holding the RealStep SICAF.
CEO and Co-Founder
Before devoting his energies to real estate, Stefano spent nine years in Investment Banking (Morgan Stanley, London and Milan) focusing on Mergers & Acquisitions and Corporate Finance. He also enjoyed two years privatising selected state-owned companies in the Italian Treasury, two years restructuring the industrial GIM group and a stint as head of Italy of Industri Kapital (one of the leading Scandinavian private equity funds). Moving into the real estate market Stefano joined Pietro and other investors in committing equity to the real estate investments, the Metropolitan Estate Fund and Pioneer RE Creative Properties. He acted as exclusive advisor to Metropolitan Estate Fund in connection with all acquisitions and disposals, as well as matters concerning structuring and financing of operations. In 2007, jointly with Pietro, he founded RealStep, currently holding the RealStep SICAF.
Chairman
Francesco started his career in investment banking at Morgan Stanley (London and Milan) with Stefano and subsequently joined BS Private Equity in Milan, a private equity partnership focusing on mid-sized, Italian, manufacturing and service companies. During his twenty-year tenure at BS Private Equity – most of which as Managing Partner – Francesco was not only responsible for closing deals but also saw to fund raising and investor relations. More recently, Francesco held the position of Head of Business Development at Azimut Yachts and IDeA Capital Funds. He continues to sit on several company boards, including in the past the publicly traded EI Towers and Alerion Clean Power (as representative of the minority shareholders). Francesco joined RealStep in 2016.
Independent Director
Marco is Full Professor at Politecnico di Milano, where he holds the Chair of Financial Markets and Institutions and Financial Risk Management (since 2004). Marco is also Director of the Master Program in Financial Risk Management at MIP Graduate School of Business. He coordinated several research projects, ending up with more than 120 publications both national and international, on banking and finance topics, and – more recently – on corporate governance, risk management, and digital innovation in banking and financial services. He is Scientific Director of the Fintech & Insurtech Observatory and of the Corporate Governance Observatory, and Scientific Co-Director of the Supply Chain Finance Observatory at Politecnico di Milano, School of Management. He has been serving and still serves as Independent Director or Chairman, or as Statutory Auditor, or as Chairman of the Surveillance Body in listed and non-listed banking or industrial companies, also under the direct supervision of the European Central Bank.
Executive Director
Prior to joining RealStep SICAF in 2018, Vincenzo started his career in Prelios SGR within the Business Development Unit, where he launched two new funds for 130Mln Euros and worked for the origination of new Real estate products (i.e energy efficiency funds). Next, as an investment analyst in Castello SGR he co-managed 12 funds for over 600Mln Euros, structured new funds for 140Mln Euros, leased spaces for 7,500 GLA and followed new development in Milan area. Vincenzo graduated cum laude at Polytechnic of Milan in Real Estate Management after an experience abroad at Northumbria University in the UK.
Consultant & Marketing Director
Prior to joining RealStep in 2021, Roberta spent the last 10 years in property management RE admin and enhancing land’s value (change of use-end and sale). She previously worked 5 years for Bulgari, with the responsibility for international media planning, coordinating all the worldwide marketing offices. She previously spent several years in advertising and media agencies (Saatchi&Saatchi, Ogilvy&Mather and Armando Testa), advising large corporates, such as Procter&Gamble, Ford, Wind, Alitalia, and many others. In 1995 she graduated from Università La Sapienza in Rome in Sociology, Communication and Mass-media.
Senior Associate
Marina graduated from Politecnico di Milano in Real Estate Management. Before joining RealStep SICAF, she gained solid experience in corporate real estate management, with several experiences abroad. After a short period as Property Manager in Vailog, during which she was in charge of logistics real estate, she was responsible for the corporate real estate services contract for a leading German bank in Italy, Spain, Portugal and Indonesia. She then held the contract lead for Italy only, coordinating a team of 70 people and implementing cost saving and spend management progamme.
Junior Associate
Lorenzo graduated cum laude in 2018 from Università Cattolica of Milan in Business and Economics. He furthered his studies with a master’s degree in International Business. During the course of his studies, he completed two internships: the first in Spain, working in marketing; the second in finance at a hedge fund in the United States. After working in the Wealth Management division of Deutsche Bank, where he managed the investments of private customers, he joined RealStep, guided by his passion for real estate.
Analyst
After graduating cum laude in Construction Engineering at Politecnico di Torino, Monica started her career in a top consulting firm of Milan, with a focus on energy and facility management. In 2019, following her passion for real estate investments, she joined a major player in the industry as a Real Estate valuer. In the years that followed, she built a strong experience in the valuation of both real estate portfolios and single assets with a wide range of clients, including banks, national and international investors. She joined RealStep in 2022.
Senior Analyst
Andrea graduated with distinction in 2019 from LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome in Business & Economics. He is continuing his studies with a master’s degree, also at LUISS Guido Carli, in Corporate Finance. He has currently completed all his exams and is writing his thesis in Real Estate Finance. During his university career, after completing an internship in December 2021 at RealStep, he joined the team as an Analyst in January 2022. The ability to relate to people and a passion for real estate are his strengths.
Chief Financial Officer
Graduated in International Finance Risk Management and Management of Financial Intermediaries, Roberta before joining RealStep SICAF, worked in a financial and banking services company as Fund Administrator in the Real Estate market, then for 5 years she worked in a Real Estate SGR as finance manager and controller and then in the finance team. Nowadays with great passion she holds the position of Chief Financial Officer.
Accounting Analyst
Graduate in Science of Economics and Business Management from The University of Catania, he has had the opportunity to analyze the ways of controlling processes of accounting, management, and organizational nature of companies. Enthusiasm, initiative and dynamism, marked him to perseverance in both his university and working career. Before joining the position of Accounting Analyst in RealStep SICAF, Agostino began his working career with the role of Accounting for two major multinational companies such as Acciona and Volkswaghen.
Urban Planner
Lorenzo graduated in 2021 from Politecnico di Milano in Urban Planning: city, environment and landscape.During his studies, driven by his passion, he had several work experiences in design studios in addition to an internship for the Politecnico. After a year working in an architectural firm in Monza, he joined RealStep to work in urban planning and design in the position of Urban Planner.
